How to choose adhesives
Adhesives are important to keep your scrapbook materials together. getting the correct adhesives is important to keep your photos safe. Scrap bookers want to stick to the “CK OK” seals when buying adhesives. Some people use rubber cement to create scrapbooks, yet recent studies have shown that the material will damage photos. You can choose glues, paste, or tape to create your scrapbook, which ever is your choice. The best materials however are suggested to you in this article.

Adhesives include P.A.T. (Photo Activity Test) materials. P.A.T. has tested the adhesives to make sure that it will not damage your scrapbook. Adhesives include acrylic based or starched based products, which are safe keeps. Reversible adhesives, white and/or colorless, odor free, chemical additives, migratory, non-toxic, neutralized pH sever or higher, etc are safe keep adhesives to create scrapbooks.

Any glue you buy should not run, relax, or have any odors once it dries. It should not transfer either. Moreover, the glue should not distort, color, or damage your photos.

TIP: Use heavy paper when crafting your scrapbook.

In craft stores, you will find a selection of glues, including sticks, bottle liquids, glue pens, etc. You can test the products to see which are best suited for your scrapbook needs. The glue sticks are ideal if you want to produce a scrapbook with less muddle. For smaller projects, you may want to use the pens. You will need to apply sufficient force to stick your smaller objects. Use the bottled liquid glue to stick die cuts, fragments, or scraps.

If you want to embellish, you can use the two-way pens. When the pens are moist it provides are stern adhesive, yet you can remove your scraps, papers, photos, etc, at your convenience.

Scotch tape is great to use as adhesives. Tape is easier to use than glues. When choosing tape however make sure, you have a tape roller. Tape will provide you a reversal along with quick processing. Reversible tape includes the double tape also. To use tapes merely consign the scotch tape or double tape on your pages. On the opposite side, stick your embellishments, documents, photos, etc.

Glue and tape are cheaper than the Xyron machines. The machines will make up quality scrapbooks. The machines are ideal if you plan to create multi-scrapbook projects. You can use the machine as a laminator. In addition, you can make stickers with the Xyron machines

In addition to the machines, glues, tapes, etc, you may want to invest in photo splits and precut glue, paste, cement, etc.

How to use splitters:
To use photo splits you can drag out your tabs. Once you tug out your tab(s) fix them to your scrapbook page. You will need to skin, or unpeel the layers at the top.

Once you decide which adhesives you want to use you will need to think about ink. In the meantime, the glues should not have acids incorporated into its substance. Also, the adhesives should be lignin-free.

Scrapbooks are a great way to bring your family together. Down through the years you can review your scrapbooks to recall lost memories, or to spark fragmented memories, bringing them to a full picture.

Face painting is also a great hobby.

Think of the face painting designs that you could create for birthday parties, 4th July celebrations and of course Halloween. And I’m sure they would stimulate great scrapbooking ideas too.

To craft your scrapbook however, you want to “Keep Safe” in mind. Keep Safe means to buy materials that protect your certificates, photos, letters, news clippings, and related embellishments.

As I said, once you buy your glues you want to think about ink. Ink is your writing tool that helps you to add journals, storybooks, records, names, dates, etc.

Thumb sucking is a concern lots of parents have. Toddlers suck their thumbs because it’s calming and comforting. It’s probably something they did before they were born and revert back to it when they are nervous, agitated, scared or feeling poorly. They may also use it to lull themselves back to sleep in the middle of the night.

Parents shouldn’t concern themselves unless it continues after the age their permanent teeth begin to appear, around six years old. Experts say that it’s the intensity of the thumb sucking and the tongue’s thrust that deforms teeth and makes braces necessary later. Children who rest their thumb passively in their mouth are less likely to have difficulty than kids who suck aggressively. If you’re concerned, closely monitor your son or daughter and analyze their technique. If they appear to be sucking strongly, you may want to begin curbing their habit.

Punishing or nagging your son or daughter to stop won’t help because it’s usually an automatic response. Attempting to curb it by putting an elastic bandage on their thumb or another method will seem like an unjust punishment, especially as they indulge in the habit for comfort and security.

Try to wait it out. Children usually give up thumb-sucking when they’ve found other ways to calm and comfort themselves. Consider offering them other alternatives to comfort themselves such as a soft blanket or lullaby toy.

The key is to notice when and where they are likely to suck their thumbs and offer an alternative. If it happens while they are tired, try giving more naps. If they suck their thumb often while watching television, try to distract them with a toy that will keep their hands occupied.

Older children may need gentle reminders to curtail thumb sucking while in public, and praise should be given freely when the child finds and uses an acceptable alternative. Your child’s pediatric dentist can offer other suggestions for helping your son or daughter kick the thumb sucking habit.

If there is one stage of child development that seems to fill many parents with dread then it has to be toilet training. I think this originates from our own parents and grandparents telling us tales of woe about their own experiences of toilet training their children. But that was ages ago and knowledge about child development has grown dramatically. That means that your experience of toilet training can be very different from that of your mother or grandmother. The key is to follow a reputable toilet training program. And that actually starts well before you introduce your child to a potty. Check out the following article for further advice
tips for toilet training boys

And the guidance applies equally well whether you are toilet training a boy or girl.

This year, why not make your toddler’s first Halloween experience one to never forget? Toddler Halloween costumes are available in a wide variety of styles. Your toddler can dress up as his or her favorite cartoon character or favorite movie star. If you want to go the traditional route, there are traditional costumes as well such as a witch, goblin or ghost. Some of the toddler Halloween costumes that caught my eye this year are included here.

Bob-the-Builder is popular with toddler boys. Included in the Bob-the-Builder costume is a checkered shirt, overalls, a hard hat and a couple tools for his tool belt. This Halloween costume is adorable and doesn’t cover your child’s face so he will be able to enjoy all of his party games with friends without having to worry about losing his mask or getting his make-up messed up.

Harry Potter/Hermione costumes are another adorable idea for toddlers. The Hogwarts uniform includes a robe and neck tie. There are additions you can make to customize and add to this costume such as a wand to complete the look.

This may seem obvious, but creating a ghost costume is a good idea if you’re on a tight budget and would prefer to make your own costume. A bed sheet or pillow case is a great lace to start but this costume can be made easily with a white sweat outfit and some face paint as well. If you’re using a sheet, it can be made to cover the whole head and body making it difficult to tell your toddler apart from other kids or you can cut a whole for your toddler’s head and then have the sheet cover the body area only. This way you can tell your child apart from other children and still have a great costume. To add a unique touch on an old classic, use a thin white sheet, get a bunch of glow sticks and attach them to your child’s shirt. This would give a cool glowing affect to your toddler’s ghostly costume!

Many parents opt for the “cute” costume to dress their toddler up for Halloween. Your toddler can be cute as a bug in a Lady Bug or Butterfly costume this year. Bugs and animals are very popular costumes for toddlers. These costumes can be home made or purchased already made. Other bugs are available as well such as the adorable caterpillar costume. Brightly colored bug costumes usually go over really well with toddlers as they are fun to play with as well as pretty enough to keep your child’s attention and get your child excited about the holiday.

One company you might want to consider when purchasing a bug or animal costume is Tom Arma costumes. These costumes are of the highest quality and they are some of the absolute cutest costumes around! They are a bit on the pricier side, but well worth the Halloween pictures of your toddler that you’ll get to cherish forever.

By the way, check out Tom Arma’s infant Halloween costumes. They are simply adorable!

There are many other toddler Halloween costumes available this year. The possibilities are nearly limitless. Choose one your child is going to be able to wear while playing the games and enjoying a Halloween party as well as going trick-or-treating or whatever your family enjoys doing for Halloween.

There are a few other things to keep in mind with toddler costumes. First you should make sure your toddler can go to the bathroom or at least be taken out of the costume quickly at potty time to avoid accidents. Another thing you want to keep in mind is that your child needs to be able to eat treats, walk, and play without being restricted. It’s important you can see your child’s face and differentiate your child from other children whether at a party or trick-or-treating. You don’t want to lose your child in the crowd either. If you can see your child’s face it is easier to keep track of your little monster.

You and your spouse need to convey to your children, through your words and actions, that you’re together on your decisions and they can’t pit one parent against the other. And they need to understand that when you’ve made a decision, all their arguing and fussing will not change that decision. How do you do that? Before handing down decisions to your children, make sure you and your spouse are in agreement about that decision. (And be sure to do this somewhere that your children aren’t privy to your discussion!) Then, once that decision has been given to the children, make sure you don’t cave under the pressure of their arguing. In our home, when one of the kids asks us for something (say, permission to go to a friend’s house for the night), we take time to think about our response. Once we give it, we don’t change it. Our philosophy is to say yes whenever possible - they hear “no” often enough, and if we can say yes, why not! But when we say no, we don’t change our minds just because they don’t like the answer. If you and your spouse give careful thought to your responses and provide a united, unmovable front, your children will soon stop trying to pit one parent against the other, and will begin to understand that arguing with a ruling is futile.
